Players from counties representing the Joe McDonagh, Christy Ring, Nickey Rackard and Lory Meagher Cups gathered at Croke Park today at a launch organised jointly by the GAA and GPA.
While one round of games has already taken place in the Joe McDonagh Cup, the three other competitions get underway this weekend.
Last year’s Christy Ring Cup winners will be taking part in the Joe McDonagh competition this year. They were represented by Niall Ó Muineacháin. They lost their opener to Carlow last weekend.
Tyrone make the step up to the Christy ring cup in this season as champions from Nickey Rackard in 2022. Lorcan Devlin was at GAA Headquarters on their behalf.
Louth were represented by captain Feidhelm Joyce. They compete in the Nickey Rackard Cup in 2023 having emerged victorious from the Lory Meagher Cup in 2022.
Last year’s beaten Meagher finalists were Longford. Johnny Casey was at Croke Park on their behalf as they look to go one step better than last year.
GPA National Executive Committee member Neil McManus and GAA Ard Stiúrthóir Tom Ryan were also in attendance.
