Our Player Development Programme – BEO360 provides evidence based, best practice support to players across four key pillars – Lifeskills, Dual-career, Wellbeing and Transition.
Education
GPA offers a wide range of education supports including the Education and Training Fund, Scholarships and Education Advice.
Education & Training Fund
This application for funding is available throughout the entire year unlike the GPA 3rd Level Scholarships Process.
This funding is available for GPA members who are returning to education on a full-time or part-time basis, regardless of the course that they’re doing. It is also the funding process we use for any current players upskilling themselves on a part-time basis.
The application is available through the player profile section on the GPA website only. Applications are reviewed every fortnight and are reviewed on an individual basis.
The GPA Education and Training fund is also available to former GPA Members who have been on a championship panel for five or more years. Former Players can sign up as Past Player Members for a €50 annual fee, and gain eligibility to all GPA Programmes and Services.

GPA Enhanced Scholarships
We have educational partnerships with various institutes across the country; click on our map HERE to see all colleges we have partnerships with. They offer enhanced scholarships to a limited number of GPA members each year. The scholarships are partially funded by both the GPA & the college.
GPA Third-Level
Scholarship
The GPA scholarship programme is available to all players who are in full time third level education. This scholarship programme was put in place to help take financial pressures off players during their college years as we understand how difficult it is for players to secure a part time job on top of managing the demands that is required to perform in the sporting and academic worlds.
The scholarship value varies a small bit every year depending on the number of applicants, but generally it is valued between €750 – €1000. As requested by students over the past number of years, this scholarship is paid in two separate payments – The first payment (50%) is paid in Semester 1 (November) and the second payment (50%) is paid in Semester 2 (Jan/Feb).
The application process for this scholarship opens in October and members will be notified.

Education Advice
An education adviser is available to meet with players on a one-to-one basis to provide them with knowledge on the courses in which they might be interested.
Many players mightn’t have a handle on the recognition of the course, the demands, topics or application process so our education advisers are on-hand to help out.
