Gaelic Players Association sign scholarship partnership with the National University of Ireland, Galway
The GPA and WGPA in association with the National University of Ireland, Galway have announced three new scholarship deals open to members of the organisations. The scholarships are jointly funded by NUI Galway and the GPA / WGPA.
NUI Galway has made three annual scholarships available to members of the GPA and the WGPA.
The programmes are an NUI Galway College of Business, Public Policy and Law Postgraduate Scholarship for both the GPA and WGPA, as well as a GPA/NUI Galway MBA Scholarship. The addition of these scholarships is key to both player associations’ aim to have extensive reach across the country with education offerings from both organisations.
Paul Flynn, CEO at the GPA said, “We are delighted that NUI Galway have come on board with our scholarship options. These scholarships offers our players the opportunity to further enhance their career prospects through participation in highly sought after graduate programmes, alongside maintaining their sporting pursuits.”
Professor John McHale, Dean, College of Business, Public Policy and Law, NUI Galway said, “We recognise the relationship between academic performance, health and wellbeing and in recognition of this are delighted to welcome this partnership between the GPA, WGPA and the University.
Maria Kinsella, Chairperson at the WGPA said, “We are delighted to be working with NUI Galway and the GPA to provide further scholarship options for our members. Past scholarship recipients from the WGPA have achieved great success in their programmes, their careers and on the playing field and we are very proud of them. We’re looking forward to working with NUI Galway.”
