Dublin footballers and friends of the late Dublin player, Tomás Mulligan, Alan Brogan and Tomás Quinn, launched the second annual Tomás Mulligan Memorial Cycle to raise funds for suicide prevention. This year's cycle takes place on Saturday, 15th and Sunday, 16th of August and will see participants complete a 250km roundtrip from Drimnagh, Dublin to Cootehill, County Cavan, raising over €50,000 for suicide prevention.
Up to 30 people, including friends and family of the late Tomás Mulligan, will take part in the cycle, in memory of the footballer. All proceeds will be donated to Pieta House centre for the prevention of suicide and self-harm.
Commenting on the cycle, Thomas Mulligan Snr said: "This is the second year of the Tomás Mulligan Memorial Cycle and we are delighted to donate all monies raised this year's to Pieta House. Last year we cycled from Mayo to Dublin, raising over €35,000. This year we hope to raise €50,000 to help Pieta House with the amazing work it does helping those who are suicidal or in crisis in our society."
