What we can do to help you find a job

The GPA Career Service is aimed at improving your employment and career prospects by providing players with expert advice and support in looking for work. The service, which offers one-to-one access to a leading career coach, will help equip job applicants with the necessary knowledge, skills and confidence to search for a job effectively. The service is applicable to the following:

- Players currently unemployed or employed and actively seeking employment	-Players in employment or education and are considering a career change
-Players who need guidance and direction on job searching and networking successfully in today's challenging job market	-Players who lack confidence at job interviews and need coaching to improve interview skills, presentation & technique
-Players who feel their CV needs to be improved by a professional

This service provides a practical, individual career support in the following key areas:

Career Direction:

By assessing your skills, interests, achievements, experience and personality, we can help you identify a direction for your career. This service will help you establish realistic career options and explain how to plan accordingly.

CV Preparation & Interviewing Techniques:

Improve your CV and cover letter professionally to increase your chances of securing an interview. Training will also be provided to help develop your interview skills, providing relevant preparation for all types of jobs, interviews and questions.

Job Searching & Networking:

Learn how to search for a job effectively and how to 'network' successfully in today's challenging job market. Get advice on how to search for a job online, learn how to utilise social media such as LinkedIN, learn how to find the jobs that are not advertised and get the facts on recruitment agencies.

Career Information Pack :

Once you have accessed the Careers Advice Service, you will receive a booklet 'Player Career Manual'.

This additional support is available to all players who access the service.

You must be currently playing at senior inter-county level.
