Moloney Woodcraft creates Handmade Wooden Crafts & Gifts. It was launched in March 2010 by Kildare Hurler Donal Moloney. . A carpenter/joiner by trade, he took the leap from a decent job with a regular wage into self-employment and became an entrepreneur instead.

Based in Celbridge, Co. Kildare, Moloney Woodcraft produces hand-made wooden letters, keepsake boxes, toy chests & children’s furniture. All products are handmade to order (they don’t start a piece until you contact them!). Their beautiful crafts are all made using top quality Scandinavian Pine and are painted using locally produced, water based acrylic resin paints which are completely child friendly.

Combining training, playing and running a business can be tough, but Donal is relishing his hectic lifestyle at the moment.

KIERAN Quinn is a Sligo footballer with a degree in psychology and philosophy. Going by that, though, you’d never guess his occupation in a million years.

Kieran is a professional musician. A pianist, to be more precise, and he plays a range of music but most often jazz and blues.

He makes a living teaching piano in Sligo and is a member of two groups: ‘The Odd Couple” - a jazz trio who gig mainly in Sligo and “Cold Slot” - the blues group with which he tours Ireland.

“I came out of college but didn’t really have much interest in making a living out of my degree so I saw an ad for music college. It was the only thing jumping out at me as something I would be interested in doing full-time.
