GPA/Energise Student Ambassador Programme

GPA/Energise Sport Student Ambassador Programme

Due to the overwhelming demand for third level scholarships and the increase in dual benefit for students over the past number of years through GPA and college assistance, this year’s GPA/Energise Sport Scholarship Programme will be confined to students who promote the Energise Sport brand in a number of ways.

Grant awards under the new GPA/Energise Sport Student Ambassador Programme will range from €500 ? €1,500, depending on the level of promotional activity conducted by the student in the lead up to the presentation of the awards in February 2009.

Grants may be provided in two separate payments i.e. an initial award for work carried out and a later award to be paid on the completion of further promotional work for Energise Sport.

The areas to demonstrate activity should be as follows:

  • College campus; shops, dispensing machines; college squads etc.
  • Students’ own GAA clubs and local retail and licensed premises.
  • PR opportunities: confirmation of availability for potential upcoming photo calls etc.

Criteria for funding:

To be eligible for funding the student must carry out the following:

  1. Approach Students’ bar facilities in college about stocking Energise Sport, Energise Energy & Energise Edge
  2. If Energise brand is stocked, enquire about doing so on an exclusive basis
  3. Approach college Sports Centre and carry out similar enquires in regard to Energise Sport
  4. Approach home club bar and local retailers and carry out similar enquiries in regard to Energise brand
  5. Use own initiative to carry out promotional work on behalf of Energise Sport.
  6. Be available for PR photography on receipt of funding.

If a player has recorded and can clearly demonstrate that his efforts have assisted with sales of Energise Sport, through club, locality and college then he will be deemed a suitable candidate.

Significant weight will be given to applications of those students who have encouraged key accounts (clubs, pubs or retail outlets) to agree to an Energise brand exclusive arrangement. (Account holder incentives available. Contact Christine Keoghane, at Britvic, on 00353 876697332 for any assistance.)

Players who have received funding/grants from other sources will be considered, this is no longer a restriction in applying for the GPA/Energise Scholarship Programme.

All other criteria apply as normal (see below). The player will be required to liaise with the Energise Rep in Britvic Ireland to confirm activity undertaken and can be called for interview.

All Energise activity conducted must be documented and submitted on A4 page(s) with CV and application form prior to 5pm Friday February 6th 2009. For further details contact Dara McGarty, National Development Officer, GPA on 00353 868337405.
